The President Jefferson bust from the White House Gift Shop, Est. 1946 is the same Jefferson bust that we provided as essential set pieces for top-rated and acclaimed television dramas such as House of Cards, Madame Secretary, State of Affairs, Scandal and major films including The Butler.

The Thomas Jefferson statue is a museum-class bust with exceptional presence. Our Jefferson and other statues are used for sets in many film and television series as well as in government buildings and Federalist style homes and legal offices. President Jefferson served as vice-president to John Adams and was later elected president, serving two consecutive terms (1801-1809). He founded the University of Virginia, which he also designed architecturally. After his retirement at Monticello, Jefferson became a living legend, a sage, whose advice and company were sought after by the best minds of two continents. When he died, on July 4th, 1826, 50 years to the day after the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, the country knew it had lost a monumental figure.

Ships in a substantially padded and protective box nearly four-feet long. Perhaps of interest for your collection and display of the President Jefferson bust is that one of our director's ancestors includes Anthony (Antonio) Giannini -- a master gardener and viniculturist who came to Virginia in 1773, served in the Virginia Militia, and worked by request of Thomas Jefferson at Monticello collecting seeds for Jefferson's friends in France, planting grape vines in the vineyard, caring for the North Orchard's apples trees and the South Orchard's apricots, almonds, apples, cherries, and peaches, planting grape vines from Legaux in the Southwest Vineyard, and grafting in the Monticello orchards. Jefferson granted Giannini status as a "Freeman" after five years of indentured service at Monticello. Eventually, Antonio Giannini purchased a tract of land from Jefferson. Several letters between Jefferson and Giannini survive. The life of Antonio Giannini and his family in Virginia became the inspiration for two now iconic television series: THE WALTONS and FALCON CREST. We thought you would enjoy this little-known back-story that provides historical context and meaning for the collection, display, or gift giving of your Thomas Jefferson bust.
