On January 20th, 1989, at the West Front of the United States Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., George H.W. bush was sworn in as 41st president of the United States. This was the 51st presidential inauguration and marked the only term of both George H.W. Bush as president and Dan Quayle as vice president. An estimated 600,000 people attended the swearing-in ceremony.
