Celebrating 2019 with "The Spirit of America"

In 2019, the White House Christmas celebration, led by First Lady Melania Trump, embraced the theme “The Spirit of America”, showcasing a grand display of patriotism. The decorations featured 58 Christmas trees, including the iconic White House tree standing tall in the Blue Room. Melania’s design focused on honoring American values with a palette of gold, white, and red. The East Colonnade shimmered with soft lights, while intricate replicas of the White House and national landmarks were proudly displayed.

The 2019 decorations also included personal touches like a tree adorned with Scrabble tiles spelling out the First Lady’s "Be Best" initiative, symbolizing her focus on children’s well-being. Over 15,000 bows, 2,500 strands of lights, and numerous handmade ornaments completed the festive yet sophisticated ambiance of the People’s House.

Beyond the decor, the White House welcomed more than 100 open houses and multiple holiday events, all while the political landscape in 2019 was charged with the backdrop of impeachment hearings. Despite the tension, the Trumps’ Christmas celebration radiated a message of hope, unity, and the enduring American spirit, capturing the hearts of the nation during the festive season.

That year also saw significant achievements in the Trump administration, such as the continued expansion of the economy, the signing of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), and growing diplomatic efforts, all of which played a role in shaping 2019 as a year of both challenge and triumph for the presidency
