Senator Feinstein was California's longest-serving senator, and oldest member of the U.S. Senate. In a nearly decade long career, she achieved major legislative advancements on issues including gun control and the environment.

President Joe Biden, who served with Feinstein for decades on the Senate floor, said in a statement "She had an immense impact on younger female leaders for whom she generously opened doors."
