Historical Context of this Unique and Distinguished Pin
This is the lapel pin introduced for the White House Gift Shop by active U.S. Secret Service members through its official board including A. F. Giannini in 2010 to honor the history and service of the White House Police, now the United States Secret Service Uniformed Division.

Established in 1922 as the White House Police Force, the White House Police Force was fully integrated into the Secret Service in 1930. With more than 1,300 officers today, the Uniformed Division is responsible for security at the White House Complex; the vice president's residence; the Department of the Treasury (as part of the White House Complex); and foreign diplomatic missions in the Washington, D.C., area.
