1) Coin I — The First Indictment (New York) — April 4, 2023
The Manhattan case that began it all. After a seven-week trial, a jury convicted Trump on May 30, 2024 of 34 counts of first-degree falsification of business records tied to hush-money reimbursements. On January 10, 2025, Justice Juan M. Merchan imposed an unconditional discharge, no jail, fine, or probation, leaving the felony conviction intact as Trump neared inauguration, with appeals to follow.

2) Coin II — Booking: First President Mug Shot (Georgia) — April 24, 2023

3) Coin III— The Classified Documents Case (Florida) — June 8, 2023 indictment
Charged in 2023 with retaining national defense information and obstructing recovery efforts, Trump saw the case dismissed on July 15, 2024, when Judge Aileen Cannon ruled the special counsel’s appointment unlawful; prosecutors appealed, and after the 2024 election the Justice Department ended proceedings against co-defendants as well. (Public-release fights over the special counsel’s report continue.)

4) Coin IV — Federal Election Interference (Washington, D.C.) — Aug. 1, 2023 indictment
After the Supreme Court’s 2024 immunity ruling reshaped the case, Special Counsel Jack Smith asked to dismiss consistent with DOJ policy regarding a sitting president. Judge Tanya Chutkan dismissed the superseding indictment without prejudice on Nov. 25–26, 2024—closing the matter during Trump’s presidency but not on the merits.

5) Coin V — Georgia Election Case (Fulton County) — Aug. 14, 2023 indictment
Following rulings that disqualified D.A. Fani Willis, Georgia’s courts required a new prosecutor. On Oct. 3, 2025, the judge ordered that a replacement be named within 14 days or the case would be dismissed without prejudice for lack of prosecution—placing the future of the RICO case in doubt.

6) Coin VI — “Acquitted for Life” (Giannini Prequel, 2021)
Minted years before later dismissals and vacillations, Giannini’s predictive prequel captured the intuition that law, politics, and process would yield a mosaic of outcomes, some dismissed, one convicted but non-custodial, yet all destined to be argued for generations. It is the artist’s thesis coin: history as foreseen and recorded.

Artist’s Note

These coins are vessels, so future readers can test memory against metal. In 2021, before headlines fixed their shapes, I minted a thesis in miniature: that the ultimate story would be contested, complex, and above all, historic. The unified set now tells that whole arc back to the first prequel coin struck in 2021 with a predictive thesis summary statement: 'Acquitted for Life'
