This commorative coffee mug honors and remembers the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Divsion heroic service of White House Police Officer, William Leslie Coffelt. Officer Coffelt died during service defending President Harry S. Truman from multiple assassings at Blair House on November 1, 1950. Mortally shot, Officer Coffelt, heroically returned fire and killed one of the would-be assasins. Officer Coffelt is honored each year in a ceremony by members of the United States Secret Service.
