A significant portion of the proceeds of each coin is used to directly assist displaced Ukrainian family members now living in the United States, children and widows, of Ukraine's heroes killed in action defending freedom in Ukraine and within the family neighborhood of NATO countries.

From Snake Island to Victory’s Horizon: Unbroken Flame of Ukraine’s Defiance

On February 24, 2022, as Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a small contingent of Ukrainian border guards stationed on Snake Island in the Black Sea faced overwhelming Russian forces. Vastly outnumbered, and with no hope of immediate reinforcements, the soldiers responded to a demand for surrender with the now-legendary words: "Russian warship, go f**k yourself." This act of defiance immediately reverberated across the globe, symbolizing the unbreakable spirit of Ukraine in the face of tyranny. Though initially presumed dead, the soldiers were later found to have been captured and returned in a prisoner exchange. The battle for Snake Island marked a pivotal moment in Ukraine’s struggle for freedom, and by June 2022, after 126 days of Russian occupation, Ukrainian forces reclaimed the critical territory. This moment became a clarion call for Ukraine’s ongoing resistance, a rallying cry for the free world, and a stark declaration that Ukraine would not surrender to oppression, a spirit that endures to this day

In the early hours of February 24, 2022, the Russian war machine stormed across Ukraine’s borders, ushering in an era of aggression not seen in Europe since World War II. It was on Snake Island, a small but strategically important outpost in the Black Sea, that one of the defining moments of this war emerged. A handful of Ukrainian border guards, outgunned and facing overwhelming Russian naval forces, refused to bow. When confronted with a demand for surrender, their now-immortal reply—"Russian warship, go f**k yourself"—became an instant symbol of defiance, resilience, and unwavering patriotism. This was not just a refusal to give up ground; it was a proclamation to the world that Ukraine would not yield its sovereignty. This bold retort, uttered under the shadow of death, echoed across continents, transforming a remote island into the epicenter of a global call to support Ukraine’s right to self-determination.

The soldiers stationed on Snake Island—later identified as including Roman Grybov and his comrades—were initially believed to have been killed by Russian forces. Their sacrifice was honored in Ukraine, with many memorializing their courage. However, it was later revealed that the soldiers had survived and were captured, only to be returned to Ukraine as part of a prisoner exchange. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has come to symbolize Ukraine’s steadfast leadership throughout the war, praised their heroism, making them icons of a broader national resistance that had only just begun. Snake Island itself became a battlefield, occupied by Russian forces for 126 days before Ukrainian forces, with the help of Western military aid, reclaimed it in a stunning victory. This small victory on a tiny island proved to be a foreshadowing of Ukraine’s larger resilience. Just as these border guards refused to surrender, the entire nation would stand undefeated in spirit, no matter the overwhelming might of the Russian military.

President Zelenskyy, leading his people through the darkest hours of the war, quickly earned his place in history as a leader for all seasons. His resolute stance against tyranny, his ability to rally not only Ukrainians but also the international community, has become emblematic of modern leadership in times of crisis. His words to Western allies—"I need ammunition, not a ride"—early in the war reflected his determination to stay with his people, to fight side by side with them against the Leviathan powers threatening Ukraine. Under Zelenskyy’s leadership, Ukraine has weathered relentless attacks, and though scarred, the country remains unbeaten in spirit. As of today, Ukraine continues to make gains on the battlefield, reclaiming territories and pushing back Russian forces. International support, bolstered by the defiance first seen on Snake Island, has rallied around Ukraine’s struggle, ensuring that this nation’s fight against tyranny will be remembered as one of the great modern epics of human perseverance. The heroism displayed on Snake Island has thus become a lasting symbol, not only of Ukraine’s courage but of the broader human spirit’s indomitable quest for freedom against all odds.
