President Biden Makes Surprise Visit to Ukraine
“Kyiv Stands”
Coin #16 honors the historic meeting between President Joseph R. Biden and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ukraine’s Capitol on February 20th, 2023. Shrouded in secrecy, President Biden took a 10-hour train ride from the border of Poland to the Capitol of Ukraine to show his administration’s “unwavering support” nearly a year into Russia’s invasion. President Biden has made American support for Ukraine the centerpiece of his argument for a revitalized alliance in Europe.
On the steps of the Mariinsky Palace, standing by President Zelenskyy’s side, President Biden declared “One year later, Kyiv stands, and Ukraine stands. Democracy stands.”
Shortly after, President Biden and President Zelenskyy visited St. Michael’s monastery in downtown Kyiv. The two leaders walked along the Wall of Remembrance, with portraits of more than 4,500 soldiers who have died since Russia illegally annexed Crimea in 2014. On the side of each coin the phrase “Slava Ukraine” will be permanently etched honoring, Tymofii Mykolayovych Shadura, a prisoner of war, who was brutally executed by Russian troops after saying “Glory to Ukraine.”

In dialogue with the Ukrainian government, 50% of profits will be donated to Ukraine House, a 501C Charitable Foundation, in Washington D.C. as selected by President Zelenskyy. Our CEO, Anthony Giannini, will visit the Ukraine Embassy to present the first $50,000.00 support check to the Ukraine House in January of 2023, an ongoing philanthropic initiative to support Ukraine from the Official White House Gift Shop Est. 1946.
We are honored to share with you that the #1 and #2 coins for our entire Ukraine commemorative coin collection, including the Christmas & Epiphany coin, will be presented to President Zelenskyy and First Lady
Our goal is to raise at least $1,000,000.00 this year for Ukraine House in Washington D.C. in support of President Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska's philanthropic missions for the people of Ukraine.
