Description   From our American Sculpture Collection: Adapted from the two delightful and fanciful rabbits, cast from a pair of 1935 stone originals, by American sculptor Charles Rudy. They adorn the gateposts and bring character to Miss Wetmore's restored teahouse on the grounds of Chateau-sur-Mer, the former Wetmore summer residence, in Newport, Rhode Island. Rabbits are created from cast stone; a composite of crushed stone powder and resin. This process is used widely for sculpture reproductions that produce and a durable, weather resistant product that is lighter in weight than natural stone.
