The 2015 White House Gift Shop's annual ornament, 27th in the collection, is designed by Giannini. The Roosevelt ornament is a dual-sided heirloom piece that presents in multidimensionality the North Portico with the White House Christmas 2015 banner on front and the South Balcony with 1933 Franklin Delano Roosevelt 1945 on reverse with a festive Season's Greetings banner. This elegant piece is designed as two united ornaments to symbolize the hope and relief that President Roosevelt brought to millions of anguished Americans during the Great Depression -- hope that united America in spirit and vision for an end to economic devastation of American families. Handcrafted of premium brass, nickel treated for timeless preservation then decorated in 24KT gold and perfectly baked enamels with a protective finish -- the 2015 ornament honoring President Roosevelt is made in the USA by the official ornament makers. An information card accompanies this year's White House ornament (often called the Secret Service Uniformed Division series for decades by collectors, globally) and details the life and presidency of FDR.

Franklin D. Roosevelt 9" Bust

President Roosevelt Bust from the White House Gift Shop: Jo Davidson was commissioned to create this bust of America's thirty-second president, the only American president to serve more than two terms. Franklin Delano Roosevelt entered the White House in 1933 and immediately tried to tackle the Great Depression. He introduced several new programs to help Americans when they needed it most. He was also president during World War II and, after a long, bloody, and costly war, he led the country to victory. He was, and still is, known for his memorable speeches and fireside chats. He told us "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!" and luckily, we believed him. Includes Certificate of Authenticity and Appreciation from the White House Gift Shop, Est. 1946 under the Administration of President H. S. Truman.

Eleanor Roosevelt 8.5" Bust

Eleanor Roosevelt, the wife of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, was a distinguished public figure in her own right. She served as first lady from 1933-1945, supporting the New Deal policies of her husband, as well as being a strong advocate for civil rights and human welfare. Much of her life was spent in service to others, from working as a social worker in the East Side slums of New York at age seventeen, to chairing the United Nations committee responsible for getting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights drafted and approved. At her memorial service, Adlai Stevenson said of her, “What other single human being has touched and transformed the existence of so many?”
