NATIONAL ARCHITECTURE COLLECTION: SUPREME COURT BUILDING & THE THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT SERIES WITHIN THE COLLECTION COMPRISED OF THE WHITE HOUSE, U.S. CAPITOL BUILDING, AND SUPREME COURT

The United States Supreme Court Building is designed by Giannini to complement the look, size, and feel of the United States Capitol Building ornamental model. This exceptional heirloom is completely finished in 24KT gold on specially treated brass to museum level quality, art deco proportioned, and is meticulously handmade by the official White House ornament makers, and is the 3rd piece in the National Architecture Collection of the White House Gift Shop, Est. 1946. The 2016 Supreme Court Building is designed to sparkle with jewel-like brilliance and gem-like proportions for display on your Holiday or Christmas tree from its gold cord as well as for permanent, year-round, presentation on your desk, credenza, or display case.

Each year, the White House Gift Shop, Est. 1946 designs and makes a new National Architecture ornament to commemorate great American architects and architectural symbols of America. This exceptional piece, the third in this new collection, is a great chance to begin or continue your United States National Architecture heirloom collection.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT

Designed by architect Cass Gilbert (Gilbert's last major project; he died before the completion). The Supreme Court is four stories (92 ft.) above ground. The cornerstone was laid on October 13, 1932, and construction completed in 1935. It is located in Washington, D.C. at 1 First Street, NE, on the block immediately east of the United States Capitol. The Supreme Court Building has a neoclassical style and design. The west facade of the building (the side which faces the Capitol) bears the motto "Equal Justice Under Law," while the east facade bears the motto "Justice, the Guardian of Liberty." It wasn’t until May 4, 1987, that the Supreme Court Building was designated a National Historic Landmark.

This has been my go to store for my annual additions to my ornament collection. This detailed Supreme Court is a beautiful addition to my other pieces. I'm so glad I have a great shop to work with to ensure that, even though I've moved away, I can still get my ornaments.
